About the Dyer

Hey everyone! My name is Imani and I'm the brains, hands, and professional busy body behind The Knotty Buffalo. 

I was born and raised here in Buffalo, NY. I first learned to knit at an after school program in second grade. I immediately fell in love! A few years later my dad taught me how to crochet.

After attending college and taking my fair share of chemistry and business classes, dyeing my own yarn was a natural progression for me. I could never find exactly what I wanted for certain projects. After some research and a little flip-flopping I finally really got started at the end of 2019, and the rest is history!

When I am not dyeing yarn, I love to enjoy local and international restaurants and breweries! Currently on staff we have Udaz, a hound of great stature who has a nose for making sure everything is in tip-top shape as the "quality associate". Purrsephone is the "logistics manager", making sure everything is where it's supposed to be, and subsequently hurling it to the ground. Subway, our newest "employee" who specializes in finding the perfect lighting (insert sun spots) for photos. And Saoirse who we affectionately call Wheeze who's the best mascot! Her activities include lounging and enthusiastically greeting folks when they stop over.
